In the \[{{\text{F}}_{\text{2}}}\]generation, genotypic and phenotypic ratios are identical in case of:

    A)  complementary genes

    B)  Mendelian dihybrids

    C)  Mendelian monohybrids

    D)  incomplete dominance

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

In incomplete or partial or intermediate dominance when red flowered plant of Mirabilis Jalapa have crossed with white flowered plants, the plants in Fi generation have pink flower. On setting of the plants with pink flower the red, pink and white flowered plants are produced in 1 : 2 : 1 genotypic as well as phenotypic ratio in\[{{\text{F}}_{\text{2}}}\]generation. When two separate pairs of genes interact produce the phenotype in such a way that neither of the dominant gene is expressive unless the other one is present are called, complementary genes. The Mendelian cross which is made on the basis of a single character at a time is called, monohybrid cross. Whereas the cross taking into account two characters at the same time is called, dihybrid cross.
