In dicot root bundles of xylem and phloem arranged alternately. The root may be diarch (two xylem bundles-tomato) triarch (Pea) tetrarch (Buttercup, Gram) pentarch or hexarch.                                  Due to presence of numerous xylem bundles and exarch condition, xylem of monocot root is polyarch.
