    Characteristic of mammalian liver is

    A)  Kupffers cells and leucocytes

    B)  Leucocytes and canaliculae

    C)  Glissons capsules and Kupffer cells

    D)  Glissons capsules and leucocytes

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The Glissons capsules are thin layer of dense connective tissue which form the covering of liver with serous capsule and the Kupffer cells (hepatic macrophase or stellate cells) are phagocytic cells, which eat worn out WBCs, RBCs and bacteria. Canaliculae are the radiating canals present as bile canaliculf and lined by polyhedral liver cells in the hepatic cord. Leucocytes = WBC are colourless nucleated amoeboid cells present in blood. They are divided into granulocytes (presence of granules) and agranulocytes (absence of granules).
