For the reaction, \[2N{{O}_{2}}\]  \[2NO+{{O}_{2}},\] the value of \[{{K}_{p}}\] is equal to\[K\]. What will the value of \[{{K}_{p}}\] for reaction, \[NO+\frac{1}{2}{{O}_{2}}\]        \[N{{O}_{2}}\]

    A)  \[\sqrt{K}\]

    B)  \[\frac{1}{K}\]

    C)  \[\sqrt{\frac{1}{K}}\]

    D)         \[\frac{1}{{{K}^{2}}}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    \[2N{{O}_{2}}\]                \[2NO+{{O}_{2}}\] \[{{K}_{p}}=\frac{P_{NO}^{2}\cdot {{P}_{{{O}_{2}}}}}{{{P}_{N{{O}_{2}}}}}=K\]    ?(i) For reaction, \[NO+\frac{1}{2}{{O}_{2}}\rightleftharpoons N{{O}_{2}}\] \[{{K}_{p}}^{}=\frac{{{P}_{N{{O}_{2}}}}}{{{P}_{NO}}\,.\,P_{{{O}_{2}}}^{1/2}}\] From equation (i) and (ii) \[{{K}_{p}}^{}=\sqrt{\frac{1}{K}}\]
