  • question_answer
Two inductors each of inductance L are joined in parallel. Their equivalent inductance will be:

    A)  zero

    B)  \[\frac{L}{2}\]

    C)  L

    D)  \[2L\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Here: Inductance of 1st inductor\[{{L}_{1}}=L\] Inductance of IInd inductor \[{{L}_{2}}=L\] Now if these inductors are connected in parallel their equivalent inductance will be \[\frac{1}{{{L}_{eq}}}=\frac{1}{{{L}_{1}}}+\frac{1}{{{L}_{2}}}=\frac{1}{L}+\frac{1}{L}=\frac{2}{L}\] Hence, \[{{L}_{eq}}=\frac{L}{2}\]
