  • question_answer
    The Bohr model of atoms:

    A)  assumes that the angular momentum of electrons is quantized

    B)       uses Einstein's photoelectric equation

    C)       predicts continuous emission spectra for atoms

    D)       predicts the same emission spectra for all types of atoms

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

According to Bohr's hypothesis, electron can revolve only in those orbits in which it singular momentum is an integral multiple of \[\frac{h}{2\pi '}\] where h being the Planck's constant. In these orbits, angular momentum of electron can have magnitude as \[\frac{h}{2\pi '}\frac{2h}{2\pi '}\frac{3h}{2\pi }...........\]
    etc., but never as \[\frac{1.5h}{2\pi '}\frac{2.5h}{2\pi '}\frac{3.5h}{2\pi }...........\]
    etc.
This is called the quantization of angular momentum.
