    Solution :

     Slope of the line passing through the points (3,y) and (2,7) is \[{{m}_{1}}=\frac{7-y}{2-3}=y-7\] Slope of line passing through the points\[(-1,4)\]and (0,6) is\[{{m}_{1}}=\frac{7-y}{2-3}=y-7\] Since, both the lines are parallel. \[\therefore \] \[{{m}_{1}}={{m}_{2}}\] \[\Rightarrow \] \[y-7=2\] \[\Rightarrow \] \[y=9\]
