The aqueous solution of a salt is acidic salt is made up of:

    A)  Strong acid and weak base

    B)  Strong base and weak acid

    C)  Strong acid and strong base

    D)  Weak acid and weak base

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    \[\begin{matrix}    N{{H}_{4}}Cl &  & N{{H}_{4}}^{+} & + & C{{l}^{-}}  \\    {{H}_{2}}O &  & O{{H}^{-}} & + & {{H}^{+}}  \\    {} & {} & \underset{weak\,base}{\mathop{N{{H}_{4}}OH}}\, & {} & \underset{strong\,acid}{\mathop{HCl}}\,  \\ \end{matrix}\] So that in hydrolysis of \[N{{H}_{4}}Cl\]solution pH is smaller than 7. So that solution will be acidic.
