    The empirical formula of \[{{C}_{8}}{{H}_{16}}{{O}_{8}}\]is \[C{{H}_{2}}O\]. Its molecular weight is 240 Atomic weight \[=C=12,\,O=16,\,H=1\]                 \[8\times (12)+16(1)+8\times (16)=240\]
