  • question_answer
If reading of an ammeter is 10 A, the peak value of current is:

    A)  \[\frac{10}{\sqrt{2}}A\]

    B)         \[\frac{5}{\sqrt{2}}A\]

    C)         \[20\sqrt{2}A\]

    D)         \[10\sqrt{2}A\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Ammeter reads the root mean square value of current \[({{i}_{rms}}).{{i}_{rms}}\] related to the peak value of current \[({{i}_{0}})\] the relation.                 \[{{i}_{rms}}=\frac{{{i}_{0}}}{\sqrt{2}}\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[{{i}_{0}}=\sqrt{2}\times {{i}_{rms}}=\sqrt{2}\times 10\,\,A\]                                         \[=10\sqrt{2}A\]
