    Solution :

    Suppose number be x. Then,   \[\frac{63}{100}x-\frac{45}{100}x=342\]                            \[\frac{18x}{100}=342\]                                 \[x=\frac{342\times 100}{18}=1900\] Hence,  \[78%\,\,of\,\,x=\frac{78}{100}\times 1900\] \[=1482\]
