    Solution :

    Suppose two numbers are x and y. Then,    \[xy=36\]                      ...(1) and       \[=x+y=13\]                 ...(2) On solving eq. (1) and (2), x=9 and y=4 Hence, the difference between the numbers \[=\text{ }x\text{ }-\text{ }y\] \[=94=5\]
