    Suppose present age of son = x years and the present age of father = 30x years Now, 18 years later, \[30x+18=3(x+18)\] \[30x+18=3x+54\] \[27x=36\] \[x=\frac{4}{3}\] Hence, the father's present age\[=\frac{30\times 4}{3}\] \[=40\,\,years\]
