If the product of three consecutive integers is 120, then the sum of the integers is?

    A) 18

    B) 12

    C) 14

    D) 15

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    Suppose three consecutive integers are x, x+1, and x +1. Then,    \[x(x+1)(x+2)=120\] \[x({{x}^{2}}+3x+2)=120\] \[{{x}^{3}}+3{{x}^{2}}+2x-120=0\]   On solving       \[x=4\] Now, sum of the integers\[=x+x+1+x+2\] \[=3x+3\] \[=3\times 4+3=15\]
