  • question_answer
Two trains are running in opposite directions with speeds of 62 kmph and 40 kmph respectively. If the length of one train is 250 metres and they cross each other in 18 seconds, the length of the other trains is?

    A) 145 m

    B) 230 m

    C) 260 m

    D) 160 m

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Time taken to cross second train \[=\frac{(250+x)\times 18}{102\times 5\times 18}\] Where, x = length of second train (in m) \[\Rightarrow \,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,5\times 18\times 102=18\times 250+18x\] \[\Rightarrow \]                     \[x=260\,\,m\]
