    Magnetic moment\[~=M.\] Also from the formula we have magnetic moment \[M=\text{pole}\,\text{strength}\,\,\text{ }\!\!\times\!\!\text{ }\,\,\text{length}\] Since, the pole strength of each part remains the same and it becomes half, therefore, magnetic moment of each part will be \[\frac{M}{2}=0.5\,M\]
