RAJASTHAN PET Rajasthan PET Solved Paper-2001

  • question_answer
If\[O\]is the origin and\[{{P}_{3}}\]is the mid point of\[{{P}_{1}}(2,-1)\]and\[{{P}_{2}}(-4,3),\]then\[{{\overset{\to }{\mathop{OP}}\,}_{3}}\]is equal to

    A)  \[(-1,1)\]

    B)  \[(1,1)\]

    C)  \[(1,-1)\]

    D)  \[(-1,-1)\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

     Coordinates of the mid point\[{{P}_{3}}\]of \[{{P}_{1}}(2,-1)\]and \[{{P}_{2}}(-4,3)\] \[=\left( \frac{2-4}{2}.\frac{-1+3}{2} \right)=(-1,1)\] \[\therefore \] \[{{\overset{\to }{\mathop{OP}}\,}_{3}}=(-1-0)\hat{i}+(1-0)\hat{j}\] \[=(-1,1)\]
