Why are the coils of electric toasters and electric irons made of an alloy rather than a pure metal?

    Answer:

Alloys are used for making the coils in electric toaster and electric iron because alloys have higher melting point than pure metals. So, the coils made from alloys do not melt or get deformed and alloys do not get oxidized or burn readily at high temperatures.
