    Inherited characters Acquired characters
    Characters that are passed from parents to offsprings are inherited characters     They cause changes in the reproductive cells(gametes) of an organism. e. g., eye colour, seed colour. Characters that do not pass from parents to offsprings and develops in response to the environment are acquired characters.   They do not cause changes in the reproductive cells of an organism. e.g., obese body, loss of finger in an accident
