What are the components of transport system in human beings? What are the functions of these components?

    Answer:

The animals and plants have different types of transport systems. 1.   Transportation in human beings The transport system of human beings is composed of blood, heart, blood vessels and lymph. The blood transports O2, CO2 salts and nutrients in the body. Heart collects deoxygenated blood from various body parts and pumps the oxygenated blood. Blood vessles are arteries veins and capillaries. The arteries carry blood away from heart a while veins collect blood from different organs. Exchange of material between blood and surrounding cells takes place through the thin wall of capillary. Lymph is another type of fluid involved in transportation. It carries digested and absorbed fat from the intestine and drains excess fluid from extracellular space back into the blood. 2.   Transportation in Plants Plant transport systems will move energy stores from leaves and raw materials from roots. The two components of plant transport system are xylem and phloem. The xylem moves water and minerals obtained from the soil. The phloem transports products of photosynthesis from the site of synthesis to other parts of plants.
