10th Class Science Magnetic Effects of Electric Current

  • question_answer 54)
AB is a current carrying conductor in the plane of the paper as shown in figure. What are the directions of magnetic fields produced by it at points P and Q? Given , where will the strength of the magnetic field be larger?

    Answer:

In the given figure, the current carrying conductor AB is in the plane of the paper. Thus, the direction of magnetic field is into the plane of the paper at P and out of it at the point Q. The magnitude of magnetic field B is inversely proportional to distance ri.e., Magnetic field 6 is stronger near the conduct at Q than at Pas .
