    What are the peculiar features that you find in parasitic Platyhelminthes?

    The characteristic features of parasitic Platyhelminthes (i) These are free living, parasitic forms. Tissue organ grade of body organization is seen. (ii) Body wall is three-layered. Outermost covering is epidermis which is often cilliated and covered by cuticle. (iii) Digestive tract is incomplete or absent. (iv) Respiration is anaerobic. No special organs for respiration are present. (v) The anterior part of body contains specialized organs for attachment to the host. These are hooks, suckers, eyes as eye spots and auricles, etc. (vi) Sensory organs are not well-developed. (vii) Reproductive system of parasitic forms is highly developed with enormous power to reproduce. (viii) Well defined excretory organs such as flame cells are present.
