    What are the main steps in aerobic respiration? Where does it take place? 

    Answer:

    The main steps in aerobic respiration are as follows (i) Glycolytic breakdown of glucose in to pyruvic acid. (ii) Oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvic acid to acetyl Co-A (acetyl coenzyme-A). (iii) Kerbs' cycle. (iv) Terminal oxidation and phosphorylation in respiratory chain. It occurs inside the mitochondrial matrix.
