    (a) Chondrocytes These are the matrix secreting cells of .the cartilage. These are found in the cartilage of connecting tissue. (b) Axon It is a long fibre, the distal end of which is branched. Each branch terminates as a bulb like structure called synaptic knob. The axon transmit nerve impulses away from the cell body. (c) Cilliated epithelium If the columnar or cuboidal cells of columnar and cuboidal epithelium bear cillia on their free surface they are called cilliated epithelium.
