                  Aphelion is the greatest distance of the earth from the sun and perihelion is the nearest distance of the earth from the sun. Areal velocity of a planet around the sun is constant. Therefore speed of the earth at the perihelion is more than at the Aphelion so that areal velocity remains constant.
