    Given f : R  R and g : R  R defined as  and g(x) = [x]       (fog) (x) = f(g(x)) = f([x])                   and (fog) (x) = g(f(x))                   = [1] = 1             Clearly (fog) (x) and (gof) (x) does not coincide       .
