Here are some points from a similar story that you might have heard in another language. Dividing the class into two groups try and tell the story in English. One person from each group can speak alternately. Your teacher will help you. As you' tell it, one of you may write it down on the board. A Mouse Maiden • mouse changed into a girl by a magician ... • wants to many the strongest person ... • asks whether sun or cloud stronger (why?) ... • but mountain stronger than clouds (how?) ... • but mouse stronger than mountain (how?) ... • girl asks to marry mouse, becomes a mouse again.

    Answer:

There was a mouse. It asked a magician to change it into a girl. The magician did it. Now the girl wanted to marry the strongest person on the earth. She began to search such a person. First she asked the sun to many her. But the sun replied that the clouds were stronger than him because they overshadow him. The girl then went to the cloud. The cloud refused to do it. He said that mountain was even more stronger than him because it had the capacity to stop the cloud. Now the girl approached the mountain. The mountain also refused to many her. He pointed to a rat who was digging in the mountain. The mountain said that the rat was stronger even than him because he can make a hole in mountain. Thus the mouse-turned girl came to the conclusion that rat was the strongest of all the creatures. So she again asked the magician to turn her into a mouse so that she could marry him.
