Why was it important for the Mughals to recruit mansabdars from diverse backgrounds and not just Turanis and Iranis?

    Answer:

The Mughals recruited mansabdars from diverse backgrounds. They included not only Turanis and Iranis, but also Indian Muslims, Afghans, Rajputs, Marathas and other groups. They did so because they wanted to incorporate the subcontinental people of warrior classes to participate in the running of mansabdari system.
