    Explain how fertilizers are different from manures.

    Answer:

    Differences between manures and fertilizers are as following:           
    S.No. Manures     Fertilizers
    1. These are natural organic substances. These are inorganic salts made by humans.
    2. These are rich in humus but not in inorganic nutrients. These are rich in inorganic nutrients but do not contain humus.
    3. These are prepared in fields. These are prepared in factories.
    4. Manure is not nutrient specific. It only removes the general deficiency of soil. Fertilizers are nutrient specific and provide specific nutrients to the soil.
    5.  Manure is not readily soluble in water. Thus, it is absorbed by the plants slowly. Fertilizers are soluble in water and are readily absorbed by the plants.
