The sum of n terms of the series

 

\[a+(a+d)+(a+2d)+.......+\{a+(n-1)\,d\}\] is given by

 

\[{{S}_{n}}=\frac{n}{2}[2a+(n-1)\,d]\]

 

Also, \[{{S}_{n}}=\frac{n}{2}(a+l)\], where \[l=\] last term \[=a+(n-1)d\].
