ways in which industrial pollution is affecting freshwater resources are
(i) Industrial effluents are dumped into rivers and lakes without
treatment for removing their toxic elements. These kill aquatic life.
(ii) Thermal pollution of freshwater resources is being created
when hot water from industrial units and thermal power plants is drained into
them. This also harms fish and other aquatic life residing in the water.
(b) The values which we can adopt to bring about a change
in the existing situation are
(i)We should care for the natural water resources.
(ii) We should be sensitive to the environment so that it
is not damaged.
(iii) We should have responsibility towards the society and
for future generations.
