substances manufactured from them. Since they take millions of years to be
created and are depleting because of the rapid consumption, they need to be
conserved.
The rate of formation of mineral resources is much smaller than their
current rates of consumption.
Methods for conserving mineral resources can be
(i) We should plan our use of these resources in a
sustainable manner.
(ii) We should improve our technologies to use lower grade
ores at lower costs.
(iii) Recycling of metals, using scrap metals and other
non-mineral substitutes should be employed where feasible.
(b) From the above question I have learnt that everyone
should conserve our mineral resources because the formation of these resources
is much smaller than their current consumption.
