Answer:
(a)
Bolivia is a country of Latin America which restored Civilian rule in 1982,
after nearly 18 years of military regimes. But popular struggles do not end
with the establishment of democracy.
They are an integral part of the working of a democracy.
The people's successful struggle against privatisation
of water in Bolivia support the above statement about democracy. Bolivia is a
poor country. Thus, water tax increased by the Multinational Company was not
accepted by the common people.
The protest of the common men was led by an organisation,
FEDECOR. This organization comprised local professionals, including engineers and
environmentalists. They are supported by a federation of farmers, confederation
of factory worker's unions, middle-class students from the university and the
city's growing population of homeless street children.
(b) From
the given statement, I have learnt that the struggle against unjust policy is
never ended. Even after the establishment of democracy, the struggle goes on
for the unsolved problems of the citizens.
