activating group and activates the ortho and para positions in the ring due to
conjugation. Bromination of aniline involves the electrophile attack of \[B{{r}^{+}}\]ion
on the ring and readily takes place even on shaking aniline with aqueous solution
of bromine for a few minutes. As a result, a light yellow precipitate of 2, 4,
