s and t amines are reacted with benzene sulphonyl chloride. 1°
and 2° amines reacts but 3° does not react. Hence 3° amines are separated. Now,
the mixture of 1° and 2° amides are mixed in alkali the amide which is soluble
is 1° and which does not dissolve is 2° amide.
These amides on
hydrolysis give corresponding amines.
