Write a note on metaphors used in the current poem.

    Answer:

'The Brook' is a metaphor of the human life in the form of river. The fuming bit in the poem is about the brook not being allowed to travel in straight lines, but in twists and turns which is a metaphor for anger in the poem. The hurdles the brook faces in its way, are a metaphor for the hurdles the man faces in course of his life. The brook then 'dies' or enters the river, which is the final metaphor for death of a person.
