Two miscible liquids A and B are present in a solution. The boiling point of A is 60°C while that of B is 90°C. Suggest a method to separate them.

    Answer:

For separating A and B, simple distillation is used. When mixture is heated to 60°C,  vapours of A rise in the flask, pass through condenser and collect as distillate in the receiver. Liquid B has higher boiling liquid so it remains in the distillation flask.                      (2)
