It allows more ultraviolet rays to reach on the Earth,                                          It occurs, when harmful gases like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are released into air. CFCs accumulate in the upper atmosphere and react with ozone resulting in thinning of ozone layer.                          It is firstly observed over Antarctica.
