be converted into nitrates for the use of plants. This conversion can be done
by some nitrogen fixing bacteria such as Azotobacter (occurs freely in soil)
and Rhizobium (occurs in root nodules of leguminous plant). Thus, nitrogen
fixing bacteria plays major role in nitrogen fixation.
