  State the role of forests in maintaining water cycle.

Answer:

                              Trees of forests absorb water from the soil and release it into the air in vapour form through the process of transpiration.  These water vapours into the atmosphere condense into droplets and form clouds. Then these droplets fall as rain. Thus, freshwater becomes available to the organisms.
