  Why is endocytosis found in animals only?

Answer:

                  Endocytosis is swallowing up of food and other substances from external medium by plasma membrane. This is possible when plasma membrane is in direct contact with external medium. It occurs only in animal cell because they lack cell wall, while plant cell contains cell wall so their plasma membrane cannot perform endocytosis.                          (3)
