                      Collenchyma tissue is responsible for flexibility in plants.                                          (1) Difference between collenchyma tissue and other   permanent   tissue   (parenchyma   and sclerenchyma)

    Cells are living, loosely packed with large intercellular space. Cells are dead, long, narrow with tapering ends. Cells are living, thick at corners.
    It form packing tissue and stores food and waste product. It gives rigidity and mechanical strength to the plant. It gives elasticity and mechanical support to the plant.
    Distinct nucleus and large central vacuole present in cells. Cell do not contain nucleus and cytoplasm. Cell have distinct nucleus and dense cytoplasm.
    It is present in all soft part of plant i.e., in stem, roots, leaves flower and fruits. It is present in xylem and phloem, in shells of nuts, in hard seed, pulp of pear etc. It is present below epidermis of stem and leaves.
