                      Differences between Sclerenchyma and Parenchyma tissue are
    Sclerenchyma Parenchyma
    It is dead tissue. It is living tissue.
    Thick walled cells. Thin walled cells.
    Inter cellular spaces absent between cells. Inter cellular spaces present between  cells.
    It provides mechanical strength. It stores nutrient and water in root and stem.
    Cells have deposition of lignin. Cells does not have lignin deposition.
    It occurs over vascular bundles, hypodermis of monocot stems, covering of seed and nut. It occurs as chlorenchyma in leaves and young stem and as aerenchyma in aquatic plants.
