Its preventive measures are
(i) Compulsory immunisation of stray dogs and cats should
be done.
(ii) A rabid animal shows excessive salivation and tries to
seek isolation after bite. Such mad animals should be killed.
(iii) Cleaning of wound with medicated soap and water immediately
after the dog bite should be done.
(iv) A doctor should be immediately consulted for application
of anti-rabies vaccine.
