Can there be displacement of an object in the absence of any force acting on it?

    Answer:

Yes, there may be displacement of an object even in the absence of any force acting on it. The displacement may be due to property of inertia of motion. If an object is moving on a smooth horizontal floor, it will continue to move without any external force. Thus, the displacement is possible in the absence of external force. But keep in mind that though displacement is possible but work without the force is impossible.
