Two men and a boy can do a piece of work in 5 days. While a man and 2 boys can do it in 6 days. If a man is paid at the rate of Rs.28 a week, what should be the wages of a boy?

    A) Rs.10

    B) Rs.12

    C) Rs.16

    D) Rs.18

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Reasoning: 2 men and 1 boy can do job in 5 days means. 10 men and 5 boys can do a job in 1 day. Again, 1 man and 2 boys can do the same job in 6 days means 6 men and 12 boys can do the same job in 1 day. \[\therefore \]10 men and 5 boys = 6 men and 12 boys i.e.  Rs.16 per week. i.e., 4 men = 7 boys Now, 7 boys get \[P=Rs.6400.\] per week \[A=8000{{\left( 1+\frac{5}{2\times 100} \right)}^{2}}=Rs.8405\] 1 boy gets Rs. \[CI=A-P=8405-8000=Rs.405.\]
