The ratio of the ages of A and B ten years before was 3:5. The ratio of their presents ages is 2:3, their ages are respectively:

    A) 30, 50

    B) 20, 30

    C) 40, 60

    D) 16, 24

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Let the present ages of A and B are x and y years respectively \[\frac{5}{6}\times \]\[=20\times \frac{6}{5}=24\]                    ?(1) \[\therefore \]                      ...(2) From (i), we have \[\frac{1}{24}\] and (ii), we have \[9\times \frac{1}{24}\]\[=\frac{3}{8}\] \[20\times x=22x-5.5+0.70\] \[2x=4:8\] Putting the value of y \[\frac{P\times (R+2)\times 4}{100}-\frac{P\times 4\times R}{100}=56\] \[\frac{4P\times 2}{100}=56\] \[P=Rs.700\]
