A turtle moves i inches in W minutes. At the rate, how many feet can it move in h hour?

    A)  \[\frac{5hi}{m}\]

    B)         \[\frac{60hi}{m}\]

    C)  \[\frac{hi}{12m}\]

    D)         \[\frac{5m}{hi}\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

The turtle moves /; inches in W minutes. We are asked to find out how many feet will it move in \[h\] hours. Here, we will have to convert feet in to inches and hours into minutes. Let \[x\] be the distance in feet covered by the turtle. Feet \[=12\times \] inches Also,      \[h\] hours \[=60h\] minutes. To find out the distance travelled by the turtle, we need to form proportions. \[\therefore \]  \[\frac{i}{m}=\frac{12x}{60h}\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[x=\frac{60h.i}{12m}=\frac{5h.i}{m}\]
