    E) If the assertion is false but reason is true

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Lampreys have undifferentiated gut from intestine to anus. They have no stomach, and oesophagus leads straight into intestine and waste products passes out through cloaca. Digestive glands are well developed. It has a bilobed organ, liver surrounds the anterior part of intestine. Gall bladder and bile duct occur in the larval stage, but these are sometimes absent in the adult. There is no pancreas as such. In both larval and adult lampreys, however there, occur in the gut epithelium aggregation of seemingly secretory cells of two different kind. There is an evidence of zymogen cells and probably there is some endocrine cells which has no communication with the lumen of intestine.
