What is the value of the correct polynomial if \[x=-1\]?

    A) \[-5+2\sqrt{3}\]

    B) \[5-2\sqrt{3}\]

    C) \[5-6\sqrt{3}\]

    D) \[-5+6\sqrt{3}\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Let correct polynomial be \[p(x)=4\sqrt{3}{{x}^{2}}+5x-2\sqrt{3}\]
    Tip - A real number a is said to be a zero of a polynomial, \[p(x)=a{{x}^{2}}+bx+c,\] if  \[a{{\alpha }^{2}}+b\alpha +c=0\]
    if \[x=-1,\],then
    \[p(-1)=4\sqrt{3}{{(-1)}^{2}}+5(-1)-2\sqrt{3}\]
    \[=4\sqrt{3}-5-2\sqrt{3}\]
    \[=2\sqrt{3}-5=-5+2\sqrt{3}\]
    So, option [a] is correct.
